This apprenticeship presents a unique opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, allowing you to develop essential skills and competence in the mechanical trade.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance and breakdown repairs of diesel equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety
* Conduct precise measurements, set up machinery, prepare materials, tools, and fixtures for machining operations
* Undertake various machining processes, including drilling, reaming, turning, milling, grinding, and boring
* Service, repair, and maintain existing mining equipment, adhering to industry standards
* Assist in general duties within the limits of your skills, competence, and ability as an apprentice
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent mathematical skills
* A genuine interest in the Engineering Mechanical trade
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
* The ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* A current driver's license (P1 or above)
* Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including a drug and alcohol screen
