WAPRES is a leading plantation manager, wood-fibre processor and exporter in the South-West of WA, operating for nearly 50 years. Due to increased production and shipping activity, we are currently looking for reliable, motivated, team orientated individuals to join our Bunbury Port and Preston operations.
We are seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Technician/Operator with experience in a fixed plant environment.
In this role you will carry out repairs, preventative maintenance and shutdown work on woodchip mills, conveyor systems, screening plants and the ship loader. You will also assist with the day-to-day operation of the chip mill when required to help meet production targets.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Trade Qualification - Certificate III
* Working at Heights
* Confined Spaces
* Forklift and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licenses
* Mechanical fitting experience in a fixed plant environment
* Ability to fabricate & weld (advantageous)
* Front-end loader experience (advantageous)
* A strong work ethic and hands-on attitude
* Ability to work well as part of a team
A strong focus on workplace safety is essential. Successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
This is a permanent, fulltime position offering long-term job security and a varied role. Good pay and conditions are on offer, with penalty rates paid after 38 hours and paid weekly.
The role includes weekend work, overtime and afternoon/night shifts. You will be required to take part in rostered shipping duties on 8 or 12 hours shifts, carrying out breakdown repairs and maintenance during those shift.
