About the Role
The Financial Accountant will manage Legal Aid's financial accounting, including preparing financial statements and ensuring day-to-day transactions are recorded in line with relevant accounting standards.
This role will also assist with payroll functions and contribute to the strategic direction of the Commission.
Additionally, the Financial Accountant will complete project work as directed by senior officers relating to Legal Aid's financial and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Data Analysis: Interpret, manipulate, and understand data relevant to the management and output of Legal Aid
* Reporting: Prepare accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports
* Communication: Clearly present data in an accurate and concise manner
* Legislation: Interpret and apply appropriate legislation
* Accounting Standards: Apply relevant accounting standards and principles
* Prioritization: Assess priorities and manage competing deadlines both independently and as a member of a team
Eligibility Requirements
Rlevant qualifications in accounting or finance are highly desirable for this role.
