NDIS Activity Officer Job Description
The role of the NDIS Activity Officer involves working with a team of Out of Home carers, children, young people, and families located in and around the Katherine region.
Key responsibilities include delivering and facilitating child and youth-focused community access and centre-based programs that promote learning, independence, and positive peer relationships.
* Supporting children and youth in achieving their NDIS goals through structured and flexible activity programs.
* Providing safe transport and support during outings, ensuring appropriate supervision and risk management practices are in place.
* Assisting in planning, developing, and implementing group and individual activity schedules.
* Maintaining accurate daily attendance records, progress notes, and incident reports.
* Working collaboratively with the Service Manager, Support Coordinators, and families to ensure participants' needs are met.
* Completing documentation, such as risk assessments, participant progress notes, and shift reports, promptly and accurately.
* Supporting children and young people to access communities in remote areas.
* Ensuring children are connected to their culture and language.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including children, young people, and their families. They will also have experience in program development and implementation, with a strong understanding of child protection principles and procedures.
