Key Responsibilities
* Takes ownership of Linux server infrastructure; installation, configuration, maintenance and optimization.
* Designs, deploys and manages Linux-based services across on-premise and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
* Monitors and improves system performance ensuring high availability and reliability.
* Automates administration tasks using scripting (Bash, Python, Perl) and tools like Ansible or Terraform.
* Implements patch management strategies ensuring compliance and security.
* Hardens systems integrates with IDR/XDR platforms and addresses vulnerabilities proactively.
* Leads backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect critical data and minimize downtime.
* Provides 3rd-level escalation support mentors team members and contributes to knowledge-sharing.
* Partners with developers network engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure solutions for business-critical projects.
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years experience in Linux system administration strong knowledge of Linux security principles access controls and encryption enterprise-level experience in large complex environments hands-on expertise with VMware virtualisation proven experience with AWS Azure or other major cloud providers familiarity with IDR/XDR platforms and integration with Linux systems strong stakeholder management communication and interpersonal skills a collaborative mindset and ability to 'read the room' and adjust approach to different audiences.
