The Research Platforms Division is a newly centralised and elevated to a university-level strategic division, marking UOW's commitment to transforming and optimising the entire lifecycle of its major research infrastructure and assets. This newly centralised division is tasked with significantly improving the accessibility, efficiency, manageability, and financial sustainability of these critical resources, with a future view to incorporating additional research platforms under its unified oversight. It achieves this by providing strategic leadership, university-wide coordination, and expert oversight of key operational teams and facilities (like the Electron Microscopy Centre, ANFF Materials Node, Material Analysis Facilities and Human and Animal Facility). Ultimately, this re-envisioned division ensures that UOW's world-class research infrastructure directly underpins and accelerates the University's research strategy and priorities for both internal researchers and external partners. The Ecological Research Centre (ERC), part of this vibrant new division, supports cutting-edge ecological and environmental research, contributing to global scientific advancement and sustainable solutions.
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to support the operations of the ERC. This role ensures the smooth functioning of research spaces, equipment, and compliance processes, while fostering strong relationships with researchers and students. The position also includes training facilitation, preparation of key safety documents (risk assessments and SOPs), and occasional support across partner facilities such as the animal facility and clinical trials unit. From January 2026, the role will transition to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) portfolio, offering exciting opportunities for growth and collaboration.
