**What's the role?**

We are seeking an experienced News Editor to join our highly-regarded editorial team at Kidspot, establish and frame our position on our news coverage and drive audience growth. The full-time role is based at our office in Surry Hills and would be Monday - Friday, with a focus on news and parenting/lifestyle content.
- Set the news agenda each morning and delegate stories to team members
- Deliver breaking stories, bringing Kidspot's unique viewpoint to the topic and engaging our readership
- Connect with existing and new readers across multiple platforms, including search and social
- Commission and edit content from contributors
- Lead, inspire and develop reporters to deliver engaging and informative content for your vertical
- Work in collaboration with the Editor, Morning News Reporter, video and social teams to plan and write stories in a fast-paced news environment
- Post directly to Kidspot's various social channels

**Who are you?**
- Strong news writing skills
- Experience in a digital news environment
- Keen interest in world and international news, (local and international) as well as engaging lifestyle content
- Finger on the pulse with all things parenting-news related
- Ability to be across, and write, all relatable breaking news in a fast-paced environment
- Sound understanding of SEO to drive our search traffic
- Collaborative working approach
- Natural leadership skills
