Offer description

Operating out of Dalby, Brackens Field Maintenance provides expert mechanical servicing and repairs for earth-moving equipment, trucks, utes, and heavy machinery—whether in our workshop or on-site. With a friendly, hands-on approach and a reputation for dependable workmanship, we help keep local businesses and the farming community running smoothly.

We're expanding our workshop team and seeking an experienced Service Advisor & Workshop Administrator to join us full-time. This role is all about keeping the workshop organised, stocked, and running efficiently—you'll be the link between our mechanics, suppliers, and customers.

The Role

This is a diverse role with a strong focus on parts management as well as workshop administration. You'll be responsible for:

Parts Coordination

* Sourcing, quoting, and ordering parts for a wide range of machinery and vehicles
* Building strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and reliable lead times
* Tracking orders and following up on backorders or urgent requests
* Receiving, checking, and allocating incoming stock to jobs in progress
* Managing inventory and maintaining accurate stock levels of common-use parts and consumables
* Keeping the parts store organised, tidy, and well-labelled for quick access by the team

Workshop Administration

* Assisting with job scheduling, service bookings, and coordinating workflow
* Preparing and processing invoices, purchase orders, and credit notes
* Entering timesheets and ensuring job cards are accurate and up to date
* Managing phone and counter enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
* Providing day-to-day admin support to the workshop team and business owners

About You

We're looking for someone who:

* Has experience in parts coordination, inventory control, or a similar role (mechanical/automotive background highly regarded)
* Understands the importance of minimising downtime by sourcing parts quickly and efficiently
* Is highly organised, detail-driven, and comfortable juggling competing priorities
* Communicates well with suppliers, mechanics, and customers
* Has strong computer skills (stock control systems, invoicing, and scheduling software)
* Brings initiative, reliability, and a proactive attitude to problem-solving

What We Offer

* Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
* A supportive, family-owned business that values its staff
* The opportunity to be part of a growing team with a strong local reputation
* Variety in your work—both parts coordination and administration
* A friendly workplace where your contribution makes a real impact
