Job Description
About the role
As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the Dentist is expected to personally contribute to the shaping and achievement of ATSICHS vision and goals within their own scope. The Dentist will deliver comprehensive and holistic dental care to achieve improved oral health outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Culturally appropriate dental care provision begins with rapport building and includes assessing and diagnosing oral conditions. Providing appropriate treatment planning and options with the consideration of the other determinants contributing towards the patients' oral health. The Dentist will support processes that ensure the delivery of dental care is at a high standard. Included activities involving peer review, CQI, policy implementation, clinical supervision, clinical audits and reporting of clinical incidents. They will also support fellow staff in a team environment to build collegiality and a sense of belonging within the team and ATSICHS family. Staff will actively participate in team activities and contribute to a flourishing workplace culture that promotes the ethos and values of ATSICHS Brisbane as a long-standing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation. Dentists have a distinctive role to provide clinical leadership in the Dental team.
Duties
* Provide skilled dental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment services to clients.
* Provide professional support to oral health therapists and fellow providers.
* Understanding of the principles of oral health care and the ability to work with a wide variety of professionals and the public, as part of a team to achieve results.
* Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with annual reviews into the efficiency of service provision.

* Starting Salary of $121,535 to $126,756 per annum (depending on qualification and experience).

* Bachelor of Dental Science or Equivalent.
* Registration with AHPRA.
* Radiation Use Licence.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* Known Blood Borne Viral Status including HIV, Hepatitis B, and C antibody levels.
* Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
* Ability to support a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
* Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills.
* Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
* Willing to obtain National Police Check.
* Indemnity Insurance.
