Bendigo Rail Workshops (BRW) is a rail maintenance facility located in Bendigo, Victoria. BRW is a critical member of the Southern Shorthaul Railroad group of companies and as such performs maintenance work for some of the largest rail companies in Australia.

About the role
Due to continues growth, BRW has a newly created full time role available for the position of Quality Officer.
The Quality Officer will assist with maintaining BRW's compliance within the Quality Management System – By monitoring the workplace and work processes for continues improvement, through regular auditing, assessing and implementing appropriate control measures
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Assist in Maintaining BRW's Quality Management System and ensure that policies and procedures are complied with by all staff.
Assist in conducting Corrective Action Improvement Plans and implement approved controls.
Regularly review and provide Team Members with updates on quality registers.
Assist in conducting spot and scheduled audits and ensuring approved controls are implemented.
Participate in the preparation and completion of internal and external audits.
Drive continuous improvement throughout QMS and processes.
Liaise with relevant suppliers and ensure compliance for BRW.
Issue and monitor to closeout non-conforming product reports as required.
Assist in documentation development and control as required.
Review and reporting to supervisory team of any non-compliance.
Skills and Experience Required
* Prior experience in a similar role
* Prior experience in monitoring quality management systems
* Prior experience in auditing and implementing controls
* Prior rail industry experience desirable, but not essential
* Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
* Quality focused, with a high attention to detail
* Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Hold a current unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence
* Hold a current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
* Ability to pass Rail Industry medical if/as required
