A global industrial automation manufacturer is seeking a senior
Head of Sales – Projects
to lead and scale its project sales function across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in
large, complex, multi-stakeholder project environments
and has a proven track record of winning, governing and executing industrial projects from concept through to delivery.

The organisation operates across automation, motion control, pneumatics and industrial solutions, supporting OEMs, integrators and major end users across manufacturing, processing, logistics, food and beverage and infrastructure.

The Opportunity

You will own the
end-to-end project sales engine
, with accountability for pipeline growth, bid strategy, conversion and execution. Working closely with senior commercial, technical and operational stakeholders, you will define how project sales is pursued, governed and delivered.

This is not a transactional role. It suits a leader who enjoys shaping structure, developing capability and driving disciplined, sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities include:


• Leading the project sales strategy across ANZ


• Building and governing a strong, future-focused project pipeline


• Driving bid strategy, tender preparation and commercial governance


• Converting large, complex opportunities across OEM, integrator and end-user channels


• Developing project sales capability across the broader sales organisation


• Embedding pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy and performance metrics


• Influencing senior internal stakeholders and strategic customers


• Creating a culture of accountability, transparency and execution excellence

Who This Will Suit

This role is designed for experienced industrial sales leaders who have built their careers around
project-led selling
, not volume or transactional sales.

You are likely to bring:


• 10+ years' experience in senior sales or commercial leadership roles


• Strong background in industrial, automation, engineering, process or manufacturing environments


• Demonstrated success leading
large, complex project sales
and bid processes


• Experience managing long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder decision making


• Commercial acumen across contracts, pricing, risk and margin governance


• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution


• Confident leadership style with the credibility to influence at executive level


• Structured, metrics-driven approach to pipeline and performance management

Technical qualifications in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or engineering disciplines are highly regarded, but proven industry credibility is essential.
