About Your New Role
with consideration to whole of life cycle performance for the City's road infrastructure network, you will undertake and record visual inspections, analyse results, recommend actions and identify any emerging problems to maintain the general level of service of the City's road network. You will exercise initiative and judgement in the creation, audit and maintenance of an effective assets management (maintenance) program with consideration to the whole-of-life cycle cost of an asset under the custodianship of Transport Assets Branch. Planning road rehabilitation works (4 year programs).

Key Responsibilities
* Undertake Level 1 inspection of the City's road pavement and associated asset portfolio.
* Review / Condition assessment of existing roads.
* Preparing / scoping / specifying project works for City road rehabilitation purposes.
* Verifying / validating Council's asset data to field data.
* Making appropriate recommendation/s as necessary for emergent remedial works (including preparation, response and recovery) to the City road network following disaster and / or other major weather events to restore essential road asset operation.
* Undertake a range of functions requiring the application of a high level of knowledgeand skill to achieve results aligned to the City's corporate plan.
* Use knowledge and skills to provide advice, investigate and prepare, correspondence and attend meetings on matters relating to Transport assets as directed.
* In consultation with Senior Officers:
* audit and assess the condition of City assets road network making sound recommendations for road asset rehabilitation.
* capture and maintain knowledge and information for contributed and constructed Transport assets, that inform investment programs and meet council's legislative requirements, including works in progress, asset handover, service levels and pavement condition assessments.
* review internal drawings for construction works that impact road pavement and make recommendations.
* review applications that impact road pavement for other authorities e.g. Energex, Telstra, development applications Gold Coast Water, etc.
* audit issues raised as a result of councillor/maintenance/customer requests in a timely matter and recommend options.
We're Looking For People Who Have
* High level ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven investigative and problem solving skills with the ability to provide advice in regard to City Assets Rehabilitation programs.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the planning, and renewal of road related assets .e.g. roads, driveways, kerb and channel, pathway
* Knowledge and understanding or the ability to rapidly acquire skills in the following software
* Objective, Pathways, SAP Work Manager, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
