About the opportunity
The Product Development Detailer reports to the Product Development Manager and is part of the Product Development team. The key focus of this role is researching and developing new construction details for all aspects of residential home design, ensuring best practice and compliance with all relevant regulations within specified timelines. More specifically, you will:
* Research and develop new construction details for all aspects of residential home design and construction to ensure efficiencies with buildability on site.
* Be the critical connection between internal design and construction teams, external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure homes are constructed to the highest standard
* Collaborate with drafting and construction teams to produce detailed documentation for distribution to internal departments and external suppliers, manufacturers and trades.
* Attend site visits and inspections (as required) to ensure the correct method/s of construction are as per current documentation and liaise changes to relevant teams if needed. Maintain the library of existing construction details and update details as requested to ensure availability across the NEX Building Group
* Liaise and build strong working relationships with internal design and construction teams as well as external suppliers, manufacturers, and trades.
* Produce detailed documentation for distribution to internal departments and external suppliers, manufacturers and trades
* Ensure best practice and compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:
* A tertiary qualification in drafting, architecture or similar
* Experience using CAD software (ArchiCAD experience will be highly regarded)
* 1+ years experience in a drafting role
* Strong organisational skills and a high attention to detail
* Sound understanding of the NCC and Australian Standards
* Highly motivated with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
