Our Global Market Risk team plays a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the models that support risk management across all asset classes. Based in Sydney, our team collaborates with stakeholders across the Group to ensure our risk frameworks remain robust, forward‐looking, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

What role will you play?

You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of key Market Risk models, including regulatory capital models for traded market risk and interest rate risk in the banking book. Working closely with internal partners, you will enhance existing models and deliver new modelling solutions that respond to the evolving needs of our business and regulatory environment.

What You Offer

* Academic or 1+ years early professional experience in mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance, or another quantitative discipline
* A strong understanding of quantitative and computational finance concepts, supported by excellent analytical and problem‐solving capabilities
* Proficiency in programming and the ability to work across multiple languages such as Python, R, SQL, or C++
* Confidence communicating technical information in a clear and engaging way to a variety of stakeholders
* The ability to balance detailed day‐to‐day work with longer‐term goals, along with a keen interest in financial markets.

About the Risk Management Group

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie's material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
