The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking applications from those interested in directly supporting the work of the House of Representatives and members of Parliament at Parliament House in Canberra.

About the department

The Department of the House of Representatives provides services to support the efficient conduct of the House of Representatives, its committees and certain joint committees, and provides a range of services and facilities for Members of Parliament in Parliament House. The department also promotes the work of the House in the community and supports the conduct of the Parliament's international and regional relations.

About the role

This position oversees the Department's Records Management Unit in conjunction with one staff member who they supervise. The Records Management Unit is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that underpin the management of the Department's records and information assets, both digital and hard copy. The successful occupant will be required to provide a range of records and information services.

Position Duties

Under the general direction, have responsibility for:

* managing the Records Management Unit for the Department including supervising one staff member;
* providing Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) system administration and training for the department (currently OpenText Content Manager);
* developing and maintaining data, information and records management policies and procedures and providing training and advice to departmental staff on these and other records management practices;
* perform secretariat duties for the department's data, records and information management committee; and
* planning and implementing strategies to enable the department to meet its obligations under the National Archives of Australia's digital policies and standards.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

* Be an Australian citizen;
* Undertake a National Police check;
* Obtain and maintain a security clearance at the NV1 level.
