We’re seeking a passionate and proactive Health & Safety Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture across the business.
This is more than just a compliance role. It’s an opportunity to influence, support, and lead safety excellence throughout Queensland Rail’s operations.
Your Opportunity
As a Health & Safety Business Partner, you’ll work across regional Queensland including the Central and Central West regions partnering with operational leaders and frontline teams to drive safety improvements where they matter most. You’ll support the delivery of key outcomes through the implementation of the Safety and Environment Management Systems (SEMS), while also playing a hands-on role in the field completing audits, attending safety meetings, and assisting with incident investigations. With regular travel throughout the region, you’ll build strong, on-the-ground relationships and see the real impact of your work firsthand.
You can expect some of your responsibilities to include:
* Provide risk-focused health and safety advice and facilitate the development of control measures and treatment programs.
* Build strong relationships to become a trusted business partner, guiding leaders and workers on health and safety aligned with strategic goals.
* Develop and implement risk management strategies and ensure compliance with safety legislation and best practices.
* Monitor and assess the effectiveness of safety treatments through audits, inspections, and process reviews, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
* Assist with incident response and investigations, including worker support and safe return-to-work practices.

Remuneration & Employment Type
This is a full-time permanent role with a starting base salary of $117,750, plus 12.75% superannuation. The role also includes a company car to support your regular travel across the region. You must be able to travel regularly as part of the role.
What We’re Looking For:
* Extensive experience in health and safety, with a strong background in facilitating risk management processes, including the development and monitoring of controls and treatment programs.
* Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted relationships and an inclusive network, supporting health and safety management and delivering key content.
* Strong investigation, analysis, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring the efficiency of systems, controls, and practices related to health and safety.
* In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and risk frameworks, including risk management processes and the implementation of effective safety controls.
* Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing conditions while achieving positive health and safety outcomes.
