Centacare North Queensland is seeking a Gambling Help Service Counsellor to join our Client Services team. In this role, you will provide counselling, support and referral services to individuals affected by problem gambling, while also contributing to community education and prevention across the North Queensland region.

The Opportunity
As a Gambling Help Service Counsellor, you will:
* Provide therapeutic counselling and support to individuals and families impacted by gambling harm
* Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop client-centred intervention plans
* Manage a client caseload in line with program targets and funding requirements
* Deliver community education sessions and safer gambling information
* Build relationships with community organisations and gaming venues to support referral pathways
* Engage with regional and remote communities across North Queensland
* Maintain accurate case notes and client data within organisational systems
* Contribute to service development, program evaluation and continuous improvement
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled practitioner who is motivated by improving outcomes for individuals and families experiencing addiction-related challenges.
You will bring:
* A degree qualification in Social
Work, Psychology or Behavioural Sciences
* Experience delivering therapeutic counselling and evidence-based interventions
* Strong assessment and case management skills
* Ability to work culturally respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* A current Driver Licence and willingness to travel across the region
* A Blue Card and Disability Worker Screening Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Experience working in addiction services or gambling harm support will be highly regarded.
