Wokitup! Noodle Bar is a well-established Asian-style restaurant chain operating across the ACT and surrounding regions. We have restaurants located in Belconnen, Amaroo, Braddon, Conder, Erindale, Gungahlin, Phillip, Queanbeyan, Weston and Kippax.
Each restaurant accommodates approximately 15–20 dine-in customers and operates 7 days a week from 11:00am to 9:00pm. As our business continues to grow steadily, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our friendly team at our Belconnen location.
Position Description – Cook
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking food in accordance with our menu and quality standards.
Your duties will include:
* Preparing, seasoning and cooking menu items
* Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is prepared to perfection
* Washing, peeling and cutting meat and vegetables ready for cooking
* Receiving and examining food supplies to ensure quality and quantity standards are met
* Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities and monitoring food quality and shelf life
* Assisting with menu design and developing new recipes
* Ensuring cooking equipment is maintained in a clean and reusable condition
* Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and an organised workspace
* Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience
* Reporting to the manager regarding workflow, equipment, food safety and workplace safety matters
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* An Australian qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or higher)
* At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in a similar role
* Experience managing food costs, budgets and stock levels
* Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
* A genuine passion for food and hospitality
* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
