Monday to Friday only no weekend work. Disclaimer if you have to fly anywhere for business, we usually do this on a Sunday and we pay for accommodation for the extra day and a car. The Company – We are a well-entrenched supplier to the building industry specifically to the retail and wholesale sectors. To place a finer point on it, for the past 40 years, our retail clients have purchased our products monthly on regular buying cycles for the purpose of stocking their shelves. And for an equivalent period of time, our wholesale clients have sent us orders for stock and new tenders for volumes of additional stock that their clients need for new installation works. The Ideal Candidate – Product or industry experience is not essential. You need to already understand how to set and follow a run. Building industry experience is favorable as it’s an easier learning curve as you already know how they think, the products are an easy learn. What is essential is that you have managed a territory containing both retailers and wholesalers – not necessarily at the same time or in the one job. You can have done so over two different jobs/positions. You need to enjoy using a CRM and already be in the habit of updating your CRM after every client interaction. You need to be able to drive and take phone calls at the same time. You need to know when to delegate and when to handle something yourself, and when to delegate but make it look like you handled it yourself. so that your client doesn’t feel that you have simply palmed them off. If you are a junior, you might not have figured this skill out yet. Full driver’s license – We do drug testing - Due to driving laws and for sake the of appearances, you must have zero drugs and or alcohol in your system and if you are a smoker, that’s really up to you, but I wouldn’t recommend it, if you have to smoke, it would help if you don’t suffer from the stench of cigarettes, so intern, we and our clients don’t have to also suffer from the stench of your cigarettes; also I read somewhere once that its bad for your health. Message from all of us non-smokers to the two-pack-a-day people. That heavy aftershave /perfume isn’t fooling anyone. : ) The Job description –The following equates to 99% of the meat and potatoes of the job.
