Cooktown Holiday Park, located in scenic town of Cooktown, is a well-established tourism accommodation business set on approximately 8 acres of tropical landscaped land. The park offers a diverse range of accommodation options, including 23 cabins and 9 motel-style rooms & 72 powered camping sites
DUTIES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible For
Maintaining the efficient operation of the housekeeping department during assigned shifts, including staff supervision, room inspections, productivity targets, and service standards.
Job Description:
Supervise and inspect the day-to-day work of housekeeping staff during allocated shifts to ensure standards are consistently met.
Allocate rooms and duties to housekeeping staff to achieve productivity targets and timely room return.
Coordinate housekeeping workforce during shifts to meet daily operational deadlines.
Ensure guest rooms and public areas are cleaned, presented, and maintained to the highest standards.
Conduct room inspections and release rooms on time for guest occupancy.
Ensure guest requests, special cleaning requirements, and service issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
Provide on-the-job training and guidance to housekeeping team members to improveperformance and service quality.
Attend to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints related to housekeeping services.
Monitor laundry processes, linen handling, waste disposal, and garbage management as required.
Liaise with front office, maintenance, and other departments to support smooth hotel or motel operations.
Ensure safe manual handling and cleaning procedures are followed at all times.
Assist with the preparation and management of housekeeping staff rosters, where required.
Maintain accurate records relating to room status, cleaning schedules, and staffperformance.
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies and hotel operationalprocedures.
Support budget controls by monitoring labour usage, cleaning supplies, and operational efficiency.
Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, study and experience:
Education: Cert II or Cert III or Cert IV or Diploma or DegreeAustralian Experience: 1-3 years of Australian Experience OROverseas Experience: 1-3 years of Overseas ExperienceSpecialist: HousekeepingWork Rights: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder
