Disposal and Reconditioning Manager
We currently have an excellent opportunity available to drive the success of the Europcar business by managing our Disposal and Reconditioning of rental vehicles.
Reporting to the WA Rental Operations Manager, this is a pivotal role within the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-of-life vehicle process within the rental fleet to maximise resale value, ensure rapid stock turnaround, and support overall fleet profitability.
Motivated and driven, your demonstrated experience in defleeting inventory, making fast and commercially sound reconditioning decisions, will ensure you are able to hit the ground running in this leadership opportunity.
Exceptional time management skills coupled with your passion for coaching others to succeed will support your success in this 'hands on' role.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and continually review tender processes for wholesale vehicle disposal methods, including auctions, dealer groups, and alternative wholesale channels.
Prepare and issue tenders in line with business requirements to ensure competitive pricing, strong buyer participation, and optimal commercial outcomes.
Manage and control inventory of defleeting vehicles across all locations.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle status, location, condition, and disposal readiness.
Accurately appraise vehicles based on condition, age, kilometres, market demand, and disposal channel.
Maintain strong and consistent processes around stock flow from defleet to disposal.
Drive continuous improvement within the workplace.
Qualifications
Proven experience in vehicle wholesale, fleet disposal, or used car operations (rental, automotive, or fleet environment preferred).
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to make fast, value-focused decisions.
Solid understanding of vehicle reconditioning, appraisal, and wholesale markets.
Experience dealing with auctions, dealers, and wholesale buyers.
High level of attention to detail with strong process discipline.
Confident negotiator with strong relationship-building skills.
Competent in fleet or vehicle management systems and data reporting.
Required to undergo a pre-employment medical to include a drug and alcohol test.
