Overview
$35 – $40 per hour ($1,000-$1,200 per week)
We’re a busy family looking for a kind, reliable and organised person to help keep our household running smoothly. This is a hands-on role that’s about half childcare and half helping us stay on top of everyday household tasks.
The role
The position is for 25–30 hours a week (depending on your preference). The days are Monday to Friday, with occasional opportunities for weekend work if you’d like extra hours. Some days may be split (for example, 7:30–10:30am and 3:00–7:00pm) or start later (3:00–9:00pm).
During school holidays the role will lean more heavily towards childcare.
What a day might look like
- Helping our 5-year-old with lunchboxes, school or kinder drop-offs and pick-ups (a family car/car seat can be provided if needed)
- After-school/kinder care, including dinner and bedtime routines (shower, dressed, story time)
- Light housework and general tidying (kitchen, laundry, drawers, pantry, watering plants)
- Organising the apartment (2-bed) so everything runs smoothly
- Grocery shopping, market visits, and errands
- Light meal prep and cooking for our son (very occasionally simple meals for us too)
- Laundry and ironing
- Life admin such as paying bills, placing online orders, or running small errands
- Dropping past our office to assist with small admin tasks (e.g. ordering supplies, preparing for events)
- Keeping the home calm, tidy and organised
