The Role
As our new Breakfast Presenter, you'll become a familiar and trusted voice on ABC Radio Goldfields and Esperance, based in Kalgoorlie, helping locals start their weekend, stay informed and feel connected.
This is a dynamic on-air role where you will present live radio, create engaging audio content, and develop stories that resonate on socials, the ABC Listen app and ABC News digital. You'll join a small, supportive team in our Kalgoorlie bureau, producing content that can reach audiences locally for Goldfields and Esperance, statewide and nationally.
The Job
* Present live radio programs that are warm, informed and highly engaged with local audiences
* Produce original audio content for broadcast, on-demand listening and multiplatform distribution
* Drive conversations on-air, managing callers, guests and live studio moments with confidence and creativity
* Pitch, chase and craft local stories that reflect the diversity, character and issues of the Goldfields
* Tailor content for digital platforms, including written stories, clips, social posts and cross-promotion of ABC content
* Contribute to emergency broadcasting, helping the community stay informed when it matters most
* Build strong community relationships to uncover rich, relevant, and distinctive stories

About You
You're an engaging broadcaster with a passion for live radio and an instinct for great local storytelling.
You'll have:
* Experience in radio presentation and program-making, with the ability to deliver original, high‐quality audio content
* Strong editorial judgement and the ability to source, analyse and shape stories quickly
* Confidence behind the mic, with strong communication and interviewing skill
