Position Overview

Reporting to the GM – ANZP of Mercury Marine (www.mercurymarine.com.au) and working closely with the Sales and marketing organisations within ANZP this position will provide leadership to the national OEM Sales, OEM account management and OEM business development within the region. The role can be based either in Melbourne (Dandenong South, Victoria) or the Gold Coast (Coomera, Queensland).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Lead National OEM Sales for direct and indirect accounts across Australia and New Zealand working in conjunction with Regional Sales, Service and Marketing Teams.
* Prospect for and develop new OEM business relationships and grow share within existing accounts.
* Meet and exceed agreed sales and market share targets.
* Travel regularly within Australia (Interstate) and Internationally (mostly NZ) visiting key OEM partners whilst managing a planned call cycle.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders such as the Regional and Territory Sales Team and Service and Marketing teams to support our OEM business.
* Work closely with Marketing department to develop OEM specific Mercury content for key boat brands and share with relevant dealer networks.
* Develop and maintain an individual bill of materials across all OEM partners with regular price updates.
* Participate in forecasting and inventory planning activities on a regular basis.
* Develop OEM specific BI (Business Intelligence) tools to track and monitor performance of key boat brands across Australia and New Zealand
* Oversee transom partner program and visit volume transom partners and dealers
* Build and maintain a database of OEM’s and their dealer networks.
* Define and create National OEM pricing and program structure in consultation with Sales and Product team leaders.
* Represent Mercury at Regional and National Boat Shows and key events as required.
* Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on the OEM business progress to the Senior Management group.

Knowledge, Skill And Ability Requirements

* Knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand OEM Marine business.
* Ability to manage complex relationships with key customers.
* An ability to understand customers’ specific needs and build a compelling competitive sales strategy to develop new business and grow share within existing accounts.
* Experience in developing large accounts and meeting and surpassing sales targets.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Intermediate user of Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
* Use of Salesforce CRM system (preferred)
* Ability to be available to undertake regular Local, Interstate & International travel (New Zealand). Travel in this role is expected to be significant (50% of the time).
* Possess a valid Marine License (preferred)

Education And Experience Requirements

* Degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing or Business studies.
* Formal training in Mechanical, Marine, Diesel, Electrical engineering or related technical education is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 5 years’ field sales experience managing National accounts base in a corporate environment (preferably in the Marine industry)
* Previous experience in dealing with OEM Boat Builders in sales and/or technical capacity.
