The Opportunity
We are seeking two Superintendents to lead our Mackay operations—one to oversee our Mining Solutions division and one to lead our Engines division. These are permanent, full-time leadership roles responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of workshop services.
As the senior operational leader on site, you will play a critical role in aligning workshop execution with customer requirements, sales commitments, and business objectives—while driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Leading day-to-day workshop operations, including repairs, rebuilds, fabrication, and manufacturing activities
* Managing schedules, labour, materials, and resources to meet customer and production targets
* Driving operational efficiency through effective planning, workflow control, and utilisation management
* Ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, to specification, and within budget
* Monitoring job costs, WIP, and profitability, ensuring alignment with quoted scope and margins
* Partnering with Sales and Estimation on tenders, quotations, and execution planning
* Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
* Leading, mentoring, and developing supervisors and workshop teams
* Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all HSE and quality standards
* Delivering accurate reporting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* A mechanical or engineering trade qualification (leadership qualification highly regarded)
* Significant experience in workshop, manufacturing, or heavy equipment repair environments
* Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and frontline teams
* Strong commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and productivity management
* Knowledge of mining, heavy mobile equipment, or industrial service operations
* Strong understanding of safety legislation and best practices
* Experience with ERP systems (Pronto or similar) and Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
