The service includes beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield).Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care, 3 operating theatres, day procedure unit, and oncology and dialysis services, in addition to general medical and surgical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.About DepartmentThe M&CH service is provided by a team of nurses located at Sale, Maffra, Rosedale, Heyfield, and Stratford. The nurses work independently with their families and maintain a strong team approach for overall service provision. The M&CH team maintains strong relationships with other agencies and clinicians working with families with young children, including The Orange Door, Child Protection, paediatricians, and allied health. The service aims to build strong collaborative partnerships to facilitate family-focused, integrated, multidisciplinary support for families.About the RoleThe position will work collaboratively to provide a high-quality, effective Maternal & Child Health service (M&CH) at CGH. The aim of the service is to strengthen the wellbeing of children, families, and the community through family-centered practice and implementation of the Key Ages & Stages framework.DutiesPromote and comply with the M&CH service in accordance with the Framework of the Department of Health Maternal and Child Health Service.Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate integrated person-centered care leading to timely and effective client discharge.Apply the principles of culturally inclusive, family-centered practice and primary health care to promote optimal child and family health and development outcomes.Mandatory: Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceRegistered nurse & registered midwife holding current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority.Post Graduate Maternal & Child Health qualification.Proven and significant experience as a Maternal & Child Health nurse.Understanding of and experience in application of the M&CH Key Ages & Stages Framework.Preferred leadership/coordination experience.
