Operations Supervisor
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee employees and work activities, ensuring safe completion of operational tasks and meeting operational requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing business unit performance, implementing continuous improvement projects, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent time management abilities, and effective communication skills. They will have knowledge of industrial/employee relations legislation, HS and environmental management systems, and legislation.
* Oversight and management of business unit performance: Labour and disposal costs, individual/business unit KPI's and individual performance management.
* Support and implement continuous improvement projects: Route optimisation, implementation of new procedures, in-cab technology, and continual team development.
* Ensure team members comply with legislative and internal policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment: Fatigue/mass breach audits, vehicle inspections, site inspections, team training modules, and employee onboarding.
* Co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maximise customer service and operational efficiencies: Complaint resolution, procedural changes, toolboxes.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a people-focused Supervisor with a transport & logistics background, excellent time management skills, and the ability to effectively manage timeframes. Key qualifications include:
* Industrial/employee relations legislation knowledge
* HS and environmental management systems and legislation
* HR licence is beneficial, but not essential
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
* Supervisory and teamwork, ideally within a unionised environment
