Our growing service is looking for another motivated OT Allied Health Assistant to work alongside our team of Occupational Therapists
We are looking for someone who is experienced, passionate, and personable and is motivated by the idea of working 1:1 with participants in the community, delivering meaningful NDIS specific capacity building intervention to participants who have a diagnosis of mental illness, autism spectrum disorder and/or intellectual disability.
The role involves working 2-3 days per week in the Albury/Wodonga and Wangaratta area, with the option to grow or maintain this caseload and structure around your lifestyle.
What to expect
* Working in the community with consistent participants (building trust and rapport), collaborating with our motivated team of occupational therapists
* The opportunity to work with participants and see outcomes over a longer timeframes
* 1:1 intervention in participant's homes or local community to encourage and support them to achieve their practical life goals; which often include home organisation, meal planning/preparation and/or creating healthy habits such as diet, sleep, hobbies and/or exercise
* Delivering fun and engaging lifestyle programs to a small group of 3-5 participants, that includes exercise, discussing practical topics and group cooking (training & support provided by OT)
* Travel reimbursement of $0.99 per km, if you are driving out of the area and between appointments
* Staff can opt-in to be part of our short-term respite pool, which has a generous payrate and all expenses covered (meals, activities & travel reimbursement)
* Monthly supervision/training from our experienced occupational therapists to help you grow professionally and achieve better outcomes for your participants
* Fortnightly team meetings

Skills and experience
* Completion or studying a minimum of Cert 3 in Mental Health or Disability (desirable) and/or 12+ months of experience in mental health and/or a disability sector
* Ability to work independently
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
* Basic computer literacy
* A current driver's license and insured vehicle
* Australian citizen or permanent resident
* National Police Check (essential)
* Working with Children Check (essential)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
* NDIS Workers Orientation Certificate (easily obtained online)
* Ability to commit to the role for 12 months or more, supporting continuity of care and building strong, consistent relationships with participants.
