Offer description

This is a 6-week fixed term, full-time position commencing in Term 1, 2026 (Week 9) to Term 2, 2026 (Week 5) with possible extension and/or permanency.

Kalamunda Senior High School has a proud reputation spanning over 65 years, offering outstanding programs in Gifted and Talented Visual Arts, academic achievement, languages, Outdoor Education, Music, and Performing Arts. Our supportive environment includes a strong Student Services team and a dedicated Learning Centre to support literacy, numeracy, and students with additional learning needs.

Guided by our values of Community, Respect, Resilience, Pride, and a Love of Learning, we are committed to developing lifelong learners who realise their full potential. Our engaging, collaborative, and reflective teaching and learning approach ensures students thrive while staff are supported to deliver their best every day.

The Role

Kalamunda SHS is seeking to appoint a motivated and knowledgeable Library Officer to support the effective operation of the school library and enhance student learning. The Library Officer would manage the daily operations of the school library, ensuring it remains an organised, welcoming and engaging space.

A key part of this role is to promote reading and engagement with literature across the school community, helping to foster a lifelong love of learning among students.

The successful applicant should contribute to the development of a contemporary library service by creating and maintaining high-quality resources and ensuring library systems and databases are used efficiently to support smooth operations. This may include providing guidance, training and support to colleagues and members of the wider school community as required. The role ideally involves supervision of groups of students outside lesson times or in class learning activities relating to the library.

The successful applicant should display strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, and competence in using a range of computer software applications. Whilst not essential, experience with the Destiny Library Management System will be advantageous.

Equity and Diversity

We are committed to an inclusive and culturally responsive workforce reflecting the diversity in our schools and the Western Australian community. We welcome and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, young people, people of diverse sexualities and genders, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
