Requisition ID : REQ453890 Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a Post Graduate Fellow to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital We are looking for a Post Graduate Fellow in Myeloma! The primary purpose of the role of the Enid Ng Post Graduate Fellow in Myeloma is to provide a program of additional training to develop subspecialty interest and research in Myeloma, and to further develop laboratory and clinical skills required in this area, with aim of pursuing a postgraduate degree of Masters or PhD studies. The Post Graduate Fellow will have completed advanced training to become a specialist medical practitioner in Haematology and/or have completed specialist training in another discipline relevant to the Fellowship training program. Although not an essential requirement, an appropriately qualified appointee to this position with Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Laboratory Haematology (or equivalent) may also be granted scope of clinical practice by NSW Health Pathology. The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Haematology at the level of Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Haematology Department and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as required. They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development. The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA), with recognised qualifications in Haematology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. (Note: Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered.) Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
