We are seeking a Level 2 Network Engineer to join our team based in Alice Springs
This managed services role involves providing technical support for incident and service request resolution.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our Network Management team. As an L2 Network Engineer, you'll work on WAN, LAN, Firewalls, and Wireless technologies, providing on-site and remote support for projects, incident resolution, and service requests. Achieve high standards in customer service and quality within agreed service levels
Key Duties
* Working in a managed services environment supporting multiple clients provide technical support around the Cisco and Fortinet product range.
* Configuration and support of routers, switches, wireless across our customers networks including Cisco and FortiGate.
* Escalation and liaison with other service providers to resolve critical outages.
* Provide technical guidance and support to Level 1 Network Engineers as needed.
* Interact with clients, client system owners and other service providers as required as part of managing incidents, service requests and escalated issues following pre-defined processes accurately, in an ITIL environment.
* On-call support: ability to provide network support and preventative maintenance activities after hours.
* Monitoring of Network Management toolsets and raising incidents as required within defined Service Levels.
* Other duties as directed.
Skills & Experience
* At least 2 years' networking Operational experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and wireless. Including the ability to configure, deploy, upgrade and troubleshoot.
* Experience with analysis and implementation of Firewall requests
* Experience with Network Management tools such as NNMi, SolarWinds, SCOM and cPrime.
* Understanding of Networking principles and practical application.
* Working knowledge of Fortinet Routers and Firewalls or willingness to learn.
* Knowledge of and/or experience working within an ITIL based environment.
* High level of initiative and self-motivation, with strong organisational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple, concurrent activities.
* Ability to effectively build relationships and work collaboratively at all levels of the business.
