Position Description
TNS has an excellent opportunity for an experienced IP Network Engineer to design, install, and optimize Global IP Network Infrastructure across multiple geographic locations. Responsibilities include:
* High-Level Design Concept Creation
* Low-Level Design Specification Development
* Network Delivery and Turn-Up
* Operational Network Design Review and Optimization
* Network Design Standards Development
This role involves providing advanced technical support and documentation for Global Network Design and Delivery, as well as supporting other TNS network infrastructure and customer services.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Contribute critically to project success and influence at the customer management level
* Resolve highly technical, complex problems and consult on other projects
* Engineer, deploy, and support TNS Global IP backbone network
* Deliver Ethernet-based services as defined by the Metro Ethernet Forum
* Design and support routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, EIGRP, OSPF, PIM)
* Design and support WAN/LAN topology, MPLS, Data Center, and Load Balancer solutions
* Assess vendors and hardware, provide specifications for budgeting
* Identify issues and recommend solutions
* Guide team members and transfer technical knowledge
Qualifications
* 7+ years in large-scale multiprotocol global IP/ISP networks design and operations
* 5+ years expert in TCP/IP and routing protocols (RSVP, LDP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, PIM, BFD, Fast Reroute)
* 3+ years in MPLS network architecture and provisioning, including Traffic Engineering, VPNs, VPLS, IPSec, QOS
* 5+ years working with layer-2 Ethernet technologies
* 3+ years knowledge of Data Center design and operation
* Expertise in WAN technologies (SONET, SDH, TDM, Metro Ethernet)
* Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper configurations and troubleshooting
* Proficiency with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, SPLUNK)
* Certifications in Cisco and Juniper technologies
Desired Qualifications
* IP Multicast expertise
* Experience with Service Provider Juniper and Cisco routers/switches
* Server Load-Balancing, UNIX/Linux, Traffic Generation, Project Management, PERL/XML skills
