Role snapshot: The Headmaster seeks to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Christian educator to teach Stages 4, 5 and 6 Visual Arts and Stage 6 Textiles. The ability to teach Design and Technology (D&T;) would be a distinct advantage. Visual Arts and Textiles are central requirements.
The successful applicant will join the Technology and Creative Design Faculty in a full-time permanent appointment, with access to well-resourced facilities in recently developed Visual Arts and Textile Studios within the Integrated Studies Precinct.
Key responsibilities and requirements include:
- a passion for teaching and a deep knowledge of syllabus documents across the Faculty;
- a particular passion for Visual Arts and Textiles, including your own practice;
- an innovative approach to teaching and learning;
- an understanding of and commitment to student well-being;
- well-developed written, oral and organisational skills;
- a comprehensive understanding of classroom differentiation;
- a commitment to detailed and timely feedback to students; and
- a deep understanding of how students think and learn.
The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate cutting-edge use of ICT in teaching, proficiency in writing teaching programmes, and an understanding of best practices in student assessment and feedback. A willingness to contribute to outdoor education and co-curricular programmes is important.
