Our Personal Injury division is committed to being the market leader. By joining our high performing team in Darwin, you will be part of a fast-paced environment dedicated to providing outstanding service, strategic thinking and claims support, specifically in the common law and recoveries portfolios. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the Motor Accident Compensation Scheme's interstate common law claims portfolio, promoting early claims resolution through high-quality case management from the outset of claim lodgement across various jurisdictions. The role requires managing claims with regard to the compulsory third party insurance scheme and legislative provisions for the relevant jurisdiction with a strategic and technical approach. In addition, the role includes oversight of the Motor Accident Compensation Scheme's recovery portfolio, including identifying and pursuing relevant recovery options under applicable legislation. The successful applicant must reside or be willing to relocate to Darwin, Northern Territory.
Responsibilities
- Manage claims for individuals injured in motor accidents in the Northern Territory on behalf of MACC (Motor Accident Compensation Commission).
- Manage claims for individuals injured in motor accidents interstate who have an entitlement under the Motor Accidents (Compensation) Act (NT).
- Manage the recovery claims including identifying and pursuing relevant recovery options under applicable legislation.
- Maintain a focus on strategic collaboration and case management to maximise early resolution of claims.
- Make key liability decisions in accordance with multiple jurisdictional legislative requirements.
- Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders including legal representatives, medical professionals and rehabilitation providers to drive successful outcomes.
