Redpath have partnered with a leading Australian automation machinery manufacturer to recruit a hands-on and motivated Electrical Automation Technician.
This role is ideal for an experienced industrial electrician who enjoys variety from designing and building electrical systems, to programming and commissioning machinery, to mentoring apprentices and supporting field service across Australia.
You'll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of automation projects, working closely with engineers, project managers, and service teams to deliver innovative packaging and process automation solutions that make a real impact.
The Role
* Design, wire, and program electrical systems for new machinery, from panel builds to PLC programming and commissioning.
* Mentor apprentices, sharing knowledge and developing best-practice standards.
* Problem-solve in the field – commissioning, diagnostics, and service (local and interstate travel required).
* Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality, innovative machinery.
* Champion safe practices – documentation, WHS compliance, and continuous process improvement.
About You
* A-Grade Electrical Licence and trade qualification.
* 3–5 years' experience in industrial automation or packaging machinery.
* Strong PLC/HMI programming skills (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
* Confident in schematic design (EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical).
* Hands-on wiring, panel building, and troubleshooting experience.
* Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
* Willingness to travel for site commissioning and service.
