About the Role
We are looking for an Out of Home Care Coordinator to lead a residential care team supporting children and young people who cannot live with their families and are on Child Protection Orders.
In this role, you will lead and supervise Youth Workers and Practitioners to provide safe, stable and therapeutic care. You will also help manage the day-to-day running of the program and work closely with the Department of Child Safety and other partners.
This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term role based in Hervey Bay.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, support and supervise Youth Workers and Practitioners.
* Help manage daily operations, including rosters, meetings and appointments.
* Guide staff to provide safe, therapeutic care for children and young people.
* Ensure case notes, reports and Individual Child Plans are completed on time.
* Work with the Department of Child Safety and other services to review care plans.
* Support staff to help young people build resilience and life skills.
* Help create a safe, stable and supportive home environment.
* Support young people when they move into or out of the program.
* Monitor household budgets and petty cash procedures.
What You'll Need
* Qualification in Behavioural or Social Science or residential care related, and significant relevant experience.
* Current Blue Card.
* Current Licensed Care Service (LCS).
* Current Queensland Driver Licence.
* Ability to work outside normal business hours and take part in an on-call roster when required.

You will have:
* Understanding of child development, trauma, grief and family dynamics.
* Knowledge of child protection and out-of-home care.
* Experience working in social services or residential care.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Experience supervising or supporting staff.
