**Job Title:** Workshop Leading Hand
Key Responsibilities:
As the Workshop Leading Hand, you will oversee daily operations, manage team members, and ensure efficient completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards and safety protocols. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing support to the Workshop Supervisor to ensure effective delivery of servicing and maintenance of council fleet.
* Conducting comprehensive risk assessments of the Council's Fleet Maintenance operations and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
* Identifying and implementing best practices, processes, and technologies to optimize workshop parts inventory and service programs.
* Regularly reporting on the status, performance, and outcomes of the Servicing and Maintenance program and identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.
* Ensuring that programs developed meet all statutory and governing requirements.
* Managing and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive Health and Safety systems and Workshop Procedures to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) legislation.
* Proficient understanding of and demonstrated ability to use specialized workshop equipment for servicing plant and equipment.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
* Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff.
* Post-trade qualifications (Motor Mechanic) or related discipline.
* Current Driver's License.
