Underground Mine Infrastructure Technician
We are seeking a skilled individual to fill the role of Mine Infrastructure Technician in our Underground Mining Team at Kathleen Valley. This position is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of our mine services infrastructure.
This is a hands-on, practical role that would suit someone with a background in mechanical or practical trades, such as a fitter, plumber, farmer, or mechanic. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in pumping systems, poly pipe installation, and general mechanical work.
The successful candidate will work back-to-back with another Mine Infrastructure Technician in a close-knit and high-performing team. This position will be offered as a permanent opportunity based at our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate, monitor, and maintain the RO (reverse osmosis) plant and wastewater treatment plant, including component change-outs.
* Install, operate, and maintain pumping systems and HDPE pipelines.
* Monitor and record daily water flow levels and adjust as required to meet operational demand.
* Track offsite repairs and ensure required components and consumables are available.
* Record and report water balance data to support environmental compliance and internal reporting.
* Monitor water quality (TDS levels) in surface ponds for supply to underground mining.
Requirements:
* A background in mechanical or practical trades – a Mechanical Trade Certificate is an advantage but not essential.
* Experience working with pumping systems and poly pipe installation.
* Poly welding experience will be well regarded.
* Comfortable using Excel for basic data entry and tracking.
* Good communication and organisation skills, with a focus on safety and reliability.
* Prior underground experience is great, but not required – we'll train the right person.
* Valid WA Manual Driver's Licence and ability to pass a pre-employment medical and site access requirements.
