DESIGN ARCHITECT / / MULTINATIONAL ORGANISATION / / 6 MONTH CONTRACT
We are working with a MAJOR organisation sitting within the FMGC industry.
Assisting with a 6-month contract we are seeking a Design Architect, Architect to support the design and transition of core IT infrastructure from the existing data centres in Queensland to two new Equinix data centres in Melbourne.
This role involves working on a large-scale data centre relocation project and will involve close collaboration with technical international partners, local vendors and the global headquarters.
As the Design Architect you will oversee :
Low-Level Design (LLD) Development
The selected architect will be responsible for delivering detailed design documentation across :
Compute Layer – Based on Dell PowerEdge and PowerStore platforms (e.g., R660, R760, PowerStore 500T / ****T)
Storage Layer – Including PowerProtect DD****, DS600 Disk Shelves, and associated backup / DR design.
Network Layer – Cisco Nexus ****, Catalyst ****L, and ACI APIC clusters, as well as Palo Alto PA-**** firewalls and Fortinet FortiGate appliances.
Transitional Plan
Migration Strategy for moving workloads and data securely from iSeek to Equinix facilities.
Sequencing & Dependencies across production and management clusters.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation – Ensuring minimal disruption to critical business systems.
Cutover Planning – Detailed runbooks for workload and storage replication / migration.
Integration with Global Standards
Align with Lactalis France architecture frameworks.
Validate compatibility with existing B2B and ERP connectivity platforms.
Document compliance with Lactalis group policies and security requirements.
Technical Inputs Available
Lactalis has already prepared several technical artefacts to support this engagement :
Rack Elevations & Power Data – Dell-built cabinet designs showing thermal load, weight, and power consumption for compute / storage.
Vendor Quotation – NTT quotation outlining Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Opengear hardware / software solutions over a 5-year term.
Current State Asset Export – PowerData export of existing infrastructure (ISEEK).
High Level Design – Supplied by Lactalis France.
Deliverables
The appointed architect will provide :
Low-Level Design Documents – Compute, Storage, and Network layers.
Transition & Migration Plan – Sequenced approach for migration from iSeek to Equinix.
Operational Runbooks – Supporting cutover and rollback procedures.
Compliance & Alignment Report – Ensuring architecture meets Lactalis global standards.
Key Requirements & Desired Skills
You should be able to talk to your relevant experience in low-level design for enterprise data centre migrations.
Evidence of Cisco ACI, Dell EMC, Palo Alto, and Fortinet expertise.
Prior experience working with global enterprise architecture teams.
