This vibrant remote town offers local stores, two supermarkets, takeaway outlets, a police station, swimming pool, and sporting facilities — everything you need, with nature right on your doorstep.
Based in the community's busy local café, this is a hands‐on cooking position with early morning starts and 10‐hour shifts (primarily morning or afternoon). This is an ongoing, long‐term opportunity with a minimum six‐month commitment.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Cooking takeaway favourites and café classics
* Preparing and delivering quality breakfast, lunch & dinner service
* Creating daily specials
* Preparing meals for the food van
* Assisting with large‐scale catering
* Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
* Supporting the wider team as required
Pay & Benefits
* $37.35 per hour (Mon–Fri)
* $44.82 per hour (Saturday)
* $52.29 per hour (Sunday)
* 13.5% Super
* Free accommodation (private room in a shared self‐contained duplex)
* Electricity contribution: $40 per week
* Airfares from Darwin on commencement and completion
* Telstra mobile coverage
* Satellite TV access including Imparja, SBS, Seven Central & ABC
Who We're Looking For:
* Experienced short‐order cook
* Previous catering experience (essential)
* Confident working independently in a remote setting
* Strong time management skills
* Ability to lead and direct staff when required
* Current (or willing to obtain) Food Handler Certificate
* Work available for partners
