**Job Description:**
As a Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in driving technical excellence across various power system studies and grid connection engineering workstreams.
You will be responsible for leading power system studies including load flow, short circuit, and dynamic analysis using industry-leading software such as PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory.
Additionally, you will manage grid connection applications and negotiations with relevant authorities, oversee R0/R1/R2 submissions, and ensure compliance with necessary regulations and standards.
You will also review and refine OEM dynamic models, undertake due diligence on third-party studies, and support commissioning strategy and model validation activities.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
To succeed in this role, you will need a degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering and strong experience in power systems engineering within renewable energy or transmission.
Deep knowledge of the National Electricity Market (NEM), National Energy Regulations (NER), AEMO's connection processes, and Grid Protection Scheme (GPS) requirements is essential.
Advanced user skills in PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory are also required.
Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
