Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is seeking a dedicated Wardsperson to join our Operating Theatres team. In this vital role, you will assist the perioperative team by:
- Helping with patient transfers safely and respectfully
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient theatre workplace
- Transporting essential items, including blood and pathology specimens
- Upholding best practices in infection control, patient dignity, and workplace safety
With 2–3 surgical lists running per day, every day brings variety and opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care.
Theatre One: Orthopaedics, Ophthalmic
Theatre Two: General Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Emergencies
Theatre Three: Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Urology, Emergencies
Theatre Four: All Endoscopic Procedures

Skills and Support
We are seeking a professional and dependable team member who can work confidently on their own while collaborating well with others. Strong communication, time management, and the ability to follow instructions are key. But don't worry you will receive full support through orientation and training from our experienced staff and NUM, so you’ll feel confident and ready to succeed in your role!
