My client is seeking an experienced Planner to join our Shipbuilding team based in Henderson, WA. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Royal Australian Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) program, supporting the delivery of complex, high-profile naval assets.
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining robust project schedules, working closely with a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team to ensure successful delivery of a nationally significant defence program.
The Role
* Develop and maintain integrated ship construction schedules in Primavera P6, using previous vessel schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and lessons learned
* Interpret and incorporate scope using 3D models, drawings, and live ship construction progress, in close collaboration with site teams
* Facilitate and lead planning and scheduling workshops with key stakeholders
* Collaborate with work preparation engineers, production superintendents, project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and accuracy of the project schedule
* Maintain integration between the Work Orders database and the master schedule for accurate progress tracking and budget allocation
* Lead schedule review meetings and provide clear communication of schedule status and changes
* Produce high-quality schedules and visual planning tools to support stakeholder understanding and decision-making
* Identify schedule risks, issues, and opportunities, and proactively communicate these to the project team
* Liaise with other ship planners to support overall program integration and schedule balance
* Ensure compliance with company Quality Assurance standards and planning procedures
* Deliver accurate weekly and monthly reporting as required
* Undertake other duties as required to support operational and project delivery needs
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex project schedules within a construction, engineering, or shipbuilding environment
* Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel (essential)
* Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, or construction management disciplines (preferred but not essential)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
