Salmon rents & supports a complete range of Caterpillar & other heavy machinery used in the mining & construction sectors, providing high quality plant for short & long-term hire throughout Australia.
We are currently seeking skilled and qualified Field Service Diesel Fitters to join our team to support our projects in Central Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems of heavy equipment
* Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues in a timely manner
* Repair and replace faulty parts as necessary
* Perform scheduled servicing of equipment to prevent unexpected downtime
* Inspect, test, and adjust equipment for optimal performance
* Document all maintenance and repairs accurately
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritise tasks and maintain workflow efficiency
* Adhere to safety protocols and ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with industry regulations
* Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and techniques in diesel engine maintenance
The successful candidate will have the following:
* Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
* Experience on CAT diagnostic systems or similar.
* A “can do” attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment.
* Ability to carry out performance testing and adjustments after repairs.
* A strong commitment to WH&S policies and procedures.
* Excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to quality control.
* Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised as required.
* Valid manual driver license.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screening.
