Gov Recruit is seeking two Technical Writers to support a major Federal Government digital uplift and applications-modernisation program.
These roles involve creating clear, accurate, user-focused documentation that supports system upgrades, change initiatives, and technical project delivery.

About the Role
As a Technical Writer, you will:
Develop, edit and maintain high-quality technical documentation, user guides, training materials, FAQs, and system documentation.
Reverse-engineer existing high-level design documentation where required.
Work closely with system analysts, UX teams, engineers and technical stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy.
Produce communication materials supporting organisational change and user adoption.
Ensure documentation aligns with accessibility and government standards (e.g. WCAG).
Maintain version control and organised documentation repositories.
Support project and technical teams by documenting configurations, processes, and workflows.
Review and update documentation to align with evolving policies, processes and systems.
Proven experience in technical writing within ICT environments.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Understanding of government standards, compliance, and documentation requirements.
Active NV1 security clearance (mandatory).
Experience supporting organisational change initiatives.
Knowledge of user-centred design (UCD) principles.
Experience with process improvement.
Strong technical aptitude.
Technical Framework
