We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Maternal & Child Health Nurse to join our team at a leading private hospital network in Hobart, Tasmania. Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct prenatal and postnatal consultations, assessments, and education for expectant and new parents.
* Support labour preparation, early labour management, and immediate post-birth care consistent with midwifery scope of practice.
* Perform newborn checks, developmental surveillance, immunisation counselling, and breastfeeding support.
* Coordinate referrals, liaise with community health services, and contribute to discharge planning and transitional care.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and adhere to safety standards.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing and formal midwifery qualification; current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) preferred.
* Minimum of three years' relevant experience; applicants with 3–6, 7–10, or 11+ years' experience are encouraged to apply.
* Eligible to work in Australia: Australian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an appropriate work visa.
