In support of the department's Digital Strategy, the Senior Support and Engagement Officer supports our schools, corporate units and staff to leverage emerging technologies effectively, including providing expert advice on, and contributing to the solution of complex and difficult problems using evidence-based research and customer-centric design.
About the Role:
* Works collaboratively and flexibly within the team to support a diverse range of research, change management and operational activities.
* Supports understanding customer needs and issues, progressing strategic priorities, building and maintaining strong engagement with the team's partners and stakeholder.
Responsibilities Include:
* Provide high level subject matter expertise and research, articulating impacts to business processes and schools.
* Prepare briefing material, submissions, papers and reports.
* Effectively acquire, maintain and apply knowledge of relevant government processes, and review operational documentation to support the priorities and functions of the unit.
* Develop and refine reports, resources and support materials.
* Lead project activities and programs and undertake related administrative duties including representing the unit at meetings and other forums.
* Build and maintain cooperative working arrangements between the unit, customers, stakeholders, partners and external organisations.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and capability building throughout the team.
* Employ high-level analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and well-developed communication skills to ensure quality outcomes.
About You:
In addition to the capabilities listed in the role description, the following capabilities are highly desirable qualities for the ideal candidate to possess:
* Knowledge and experience of customer-focused design, and experience in solving complex problems faced by schools in their use of digital technologies.
* Knowledge and experience of analysing and rapidly understanding emerging technologies and their potential impacts.
* Familiar with business analysis and/or project management processes and activities e.g. Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) or Agile.
* Knowledge and experience of educational research particularly in emerging technologies and innovation.
* Superior written and verbal communication skills.
* Previous experience in a large, complex, operating environment.
* Knowledge and experience of education context.
