Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Conservation Management Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental management, conservation and park services.
About the Role
The Conservation Management Officer will be responsible for planning and delivering park services together with the team leader. This includes undertaking activities requiring a high level of environmental and service expertise, such as managing contractors, working with volunteers, inspecting infrastructure, walking track clearing, managing weeds and pests, providing talks to groups and developing work orders for field staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage contractors and coordinate volunteer programs
* Inspect and maintain park infrastructure and facilities
* Develop and implement conservation plans and strategies
* Provide education and outreach programs to the public
* Assist with emergency response and crisis management
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, conservation biology or park management
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
