About the role
Inner West Council (IWC) invites you to join our Strategic Planning Group as a Strategic Planner. In this permanent position you will assess and process planning proposals under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and the Local Government Act, ensuring decisions align with Council's policies and strategic direction. You will prepare high‐quality reports, strategies and plans, and provide concise, professional advice on a diverse range of planning issues. Additionally, you will process Section 10.7 Planning Certificates, support associated business processes, and respond to written and verbal planning enquiries, including providing pre‐planning and proposal advice to stakeholders.
Remuneration
$99,115.12 – $115,952.20 + 12% Superannuation
Key skills, experience and qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience applying the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and Local Government Act in assessing council‐led and privately‐led planning proposals, development control plan amendments, and planning policy.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
* Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* Commitment to quality customer service.
