The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide recovery oriented, evidence based occupational assessments and interventions focused on occupational participation, occupational performance, community connectedness and occupational roles, to clients of the Windsor Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). As a senior occupational therapist, you will provide; clinical supervision for Level 1 – 2 occupational therapists, support for the Mental Health Professional Lead Occupational Therapist (Level 5), and cAn eligibility list may be created for future vacancies.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed :
1. Degree in occupational therapy with current occupational therapy registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Substantial post graduate clinical experience in a mental health service setting. Demonstrated capabilities for recovery- oriented practice and high level of knowledge, skills and clinical expertise for occupational therapy service provision in a mental health setting.
3. Demonstrated experience in leadership, provision of clinical supervision, and experience in the supervision of undergraduate occupational therapy students.
4. Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage a complex caseload with competing priorities.
5. Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative, evidence- based individual and group interventions to support people with persistent and severe mental health problems.
6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and effective time management skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Current unrestricted class C NSW driver’s licence (P2 acceptable) and willingness to use same for work purposes
